Roof Repair Smedway built its Commercial Roofing division around one idea: homeowners in Hastings deserve a straight answer, a fair price, and a truck in the driveway fast.
Roof Repair Smedway didn't start as a franchise looking for a market to plant a sign in. Our crews trained on real tear-offs, real ridge vents, and real attic inspections in Hastings, NE before we ever put a truck on the road under this name.
We carry full liability coverage and workers' compensation, and every lead installer holds current state licensing, so a claim adjuster, a home inspector, or your own insurance carrier can verify our credentials without a single awkward phone call.
Roofing is a trade where shortcuts hide for a year or two and then fail at the worst possible moment, usually during the next hard rain. We build every Commercial Roofing job — big or small — the same way, whether it's a single shingle repair or a full tear-off.
Every lead technician carries current state credentials before stepping on a ladder.
Storm damage doesn't check a calendar, so neither does our on-call rotation.
No surprise charges once the crew is already on your roof.
Faster arrival times because the truck was already nearby.
Most roof failures don't happen overnight — they build quietly for months before a homeowner notices the ceiling stain that finally forces the issue.
If your downspout discharge looks like sand, the UV-protective coating on your shingles is breaking down faster than it should.
Once a shingle starts warping, it's no longer sealing properly against wind-driven rain.
Small gaps that let light in will let water in during the next heavy rain.
Ceiling stains tend to grow slowly, which is exactly why they're often ignored until the damage spreads.
Poor roof ventilation or compromised insulation from a slow leak can quietly push cooling costs up month over month.
A visible bare patch after a windstorm means the roof's weather barrier has a direct gap that needs covering immediately.
Not every roof problem calls for the same fix, which is why we scope each job individually instead of running every call through one generic estimate.
When high wind or hail peels back a section of roofing, our on-call crew tarps the exposed area to stop active water intrusion before it reaches the decking, then schedules the permanent repair.
Every residential estimate walks the homeowner through material options, from standard architectural shingles to impact-rated upgrades.
Flat and low-slope commercial roofs get scheduled inspections in addition to repair calls, catching ponding-water issues before they become structural.
Old, layered shingle systems often need a full tear-off rather than an overlay, and we'll tell you honestly which one your roof actually needs.
Scheduled maintenance visits catch loose flashing and clogged valleys before the next storm turns them into an emergency call.
Specialized repairs cover ice-dam prevention, dormer flashing, and low-slope transitions that standard shingle crews sometimes overlook.
Calls placed after hours still reach an on-call line for anything urgent.
The inspection covers decking condition, flashing points, and ventilation, not just the obvious problem area.
No verbal-only pricing — every number is documented so there's no confusion at invoice time.
Warranty documentation is provided on completion for both materials and labor.
Crews dispatched from within Hastings, NE reach most Hastings calls faster than out-of-area companies quoting a two-week wait.
We'd rather lose a job over an honest price than win one with a lowball number that grows later.
Our installers train on manufacturer specifications for shingles, underlayment, and flashing systems, not just general carpentry.
We'd rather send a crew back for a five-minute fix than leave a customer unsure whether the job was done correctly.
We've worked with enough adjusters across Hastings, NE to know what documentation actually gets a claim approved faster.
Our technicians explain the reasoning behind every recommendation so you're deciding with full information, not a sales script.
Every Commercial Roofing project closes with a written warranty covering our labor, separate from whatever coverage the shingle or membrane manufacturer already provides.
Material substitutions or unexpected decking damage found mid-job are always discussed with you first — we don't add line items after the fact and hope you don't notice.
We keep multiple crews staged across Hastings, NE so that a storm hitting one part of the region doesn't leave the rest of Hastings waiting.
If a storm system moves through Hastings, NE and call volume spikes, we prioritize active leaks first and communicate realistic wait times for everything else rather than leaving people guessing.
